For more than three decades, Guy Beard has created beautiful, handmade jewelry with incredible durability. He's done it all with the active, sports-minded individual in mind. Beard is an avid blue water sailor, diver and fisherman. And he loves a beautiful piece of jewelry. Unfortunately, most fine jewelry on the market today - whether mass-produced or handmade jewelry - fails to stand up to the beating that an active lifestyle can mete out.

As an expert goldsmith working in a dentist's office during the late 1970s, Beard knew a thing or two about gold and other malleable metals, and was confident that he could parlay that knowledge and skill into a profitable handmade jewelry business, creating more durable products. Soon after, he developed an innovative gold tempering process (even building the needed machinery by hand) that causes gold and other flexible metals to better hold their jeweler-designed shape.

Today, having built and sold several successful businesses, Beard continues to work much as he did in his early career days, designing and creating custom, handmade jewelry, plus hand-constructing machinery to mass produce many of his designs. His design room in his store in Jacksonville, FL's historic San Marco neighborhood houses a state-of-the-art CAD computer system with laser capabilities. His handmade jewelry and mass-produced jewelry lines feature silver, stainless steel and gold necklaces, pendants bracelets and rings including custom gold wedding bands and gold engagement rings.
